Chameleon Color Consulting
Color solutions for your home and Office
After Graduating College in the UK (City and Guilds Textile and Design) my interest was in home furnishings. I worked as an apprentice in a drapery workroom and after 6 months started a workroom of my own making custom draperies. This was in the 80's in the era of coordinating "everything" in fabric. Fun times.
After moving across country I began working with a high end furniture store as their junior in-store design consultant and within a few years I was an assistant to the designer at another well known furniture store. Later, I managed a custom drapery workroom and designed and installed model home interiors.
After several years, I decided to take a break from decorating and spent two years as a flight attendant.
With another move across country it was time to begin my own business again, working as "The House Doctor". I spent 5 glorious years creating themed rooms, using faux finish, murals and draperies.
When My first child was born in 2000 I took some time to not work, then moved to CO, USA in 2001.
It wasn't long before I was itching to start decorating again, and after a short spell working in furniture retail, I saw the need for a color consulting service. The Chameleon was born! It started with helping a few friends but pretty quickly grew to a very stable business. In 2007 my family relocated to Houston TX, and the Chameleon continued in the southern states. In 2015 we moved back to CO, this time to the Castle Rock area, and the rest is history.... So glad we made it!

Paint is a relatively easy and inexpensive way to make a major transformation to a room, an area or a whole house, yet can be intimidating when home owners are faced with high ceilings and open plan living.
The reason I began this service was to fulfill a need I observed when home owners buy paint sample after sample and still make costly and time wasting mistakes. Even worse, hiring a contractor at great expense to paint a project, in colors that turn out to be unsatisfactory. And then there are those that feel forced into hiring a full service designer to accomplish a relatively simple task. Choosing paint color isn't difficult when you're familiar with how color and tone work.
With an experienced eye, color is not so daunting and mistakes are almost always averted. I have had many clients tell me that the 2 hours they have spent with me choosing colors in their home, has saved them making mistakes that previously have cost them several times that dollar amount in wasted paint
Many clients ask for complimentary services, such as help with accessories, lighting, flooring and furniture. I'm always happy to help and will be honest if your request is outside of my line of experience.
